Last week Columbus Direct Travel Insurance launched a new optional upgrade to their policies to cover any unforeseen emergency including incidents like the ash cloud, strikes, natural disasters etc. Already they've had a big uptake in the policy across the other channels.
At present Columbus Direct say they are only insurer in the UK offering such a policy (i.e. one that covers ANY unforeseen circumstance). The cost of the upgrade is £20 on top of the policy price.
